It works great, more than enough battery to get the job done!!

18" Chainsaw and 5amp battery

I have only used it once, it worked very well. I like it because when you release the trigger, it stops. Also, buying this with the 5amp battery provided us with an additional battery for our other EGO tool (21" mower, weed-eater, blower). My only wish \ suggestion is that EGO would provide a service to "fix" a battery that will not take a full charge (10amp battery 6 years old, only 2 out of 5 lights will charge).

CS1800 chainsaw

Purchased CS1800 from Lowes Dec 2025. Did not begin to use it until late April of 2026. I was using it on a felled tree trunk having about a 3 ft diameter. The battery would die out after about a half hour. And it would take about 3 hours to recharge fully. I did not see that as a show stopper but something I wish I had known before I bought it. From lawn mowers to the chain saws and the power head with attachments I’ve used and abused their products and I can say confidently with 10+ years of hard use they make great stuff that holds up. I still have the 16” chain saw that I’ve been cutting all my firewood since 2016 and it still works great. The new 18 was an addition for larger logs.

Never going back to gas

Good homeowners saw

Compared to the 18” poulon pro this is replacing, I wasn’t able to bog the Ego down at all. Cut though with no problems. Was concerned with there not being a full case that I’d end up with bar oil all over, but however they setup the automatic oil system, it doesn’t leak between uses. Really happy with my purchase.

Not as good as a gas-powered saw

Torque is not as good as a gas-powered unit, thus it does not cut as well.

This is a useless saw

I'm on my second saw. The first one was DOA after the first use of cutting down a 16" dia. maple. EGO replaced it under warranty. The replacement was DOA after taking down an 18" dia. pine. Waiting to see was service finds wrong with the unit. All in all I got roughly 4 hours of use out of each saw. Save your money
