Ratings & Reviews for DuroMax HX Series 15000 Starting / 12000 Running Watt Gasoline, Liquid propane Dual fuel Portable Generator

Impressive

Well packaged and organized as i opened it. The manual is easy to understand I had it running with no issues. No buyer remorse here!

Beast of a generator.

I bought the 15,000 w to power my house. I’ve only had this a few weeks and still going through the break in period but this thing is a beast! I’ve put a few (light) loads on it during this time and it’s been great. I have only run it on propane so far. It was packaged well and fired right up after propane circulated through the lines. You never want bad things to happen but with this beast, it should be covered! I’ve checked all the outlets except for the 30 amp plugs. All 120 and 50 are good t...

great

great generator easy start and easy to work on oil change was easy powers the house as it should great buy

Easy setup.

We recently bought our new generator because it's dual fuel and electric start. We chose to start it the first time with gas in the tank. It started up with no problem. We haven't put it to use yet but we are very happy with it so far. The instructions that came with it are very easy to understand and contain very clear pictures.

Works good until the CO detector shuts it off.

The only problem I have with this generator is the CO sensor shut down. I use this generator only outdoors in wide open space and there is absolutely no risk of CO poisioning and I’ve had no help with how to disable it so it can’t shut down if the wind switches. After it shuts down it takes about 15 minutes before it will reset and be able to restart again.

Does what its suppose to do when it needs to do it

I bought this after Hurricane Helene, when I realized I needed a little bit bigger unit to power my house. This model powers everything I want it to and then some. It easily handles my refrigerator, garage freezer, 3.5 ton central HVAC (mulit-speed Bosch inverter style), as well as lights and entertainment devices (TV, laptop, tablets, etc.). During the winter storm this past January, when we lost power, we kept living like we did the day before!

Awesome generator

I bought the 15,000 dual fuel generator a while ago and it starts up everytime, and when we lost power from a hurricane it allowed me to run my well pump so I could shower, ran the hot water tank so I could take a hot shower and even ran my AC for the house to keep it cool, would highly recommend this generator for a portable one that you can have a electrician tie into your breaker box to power the whole house, mind you it won’t run everything at once however you can take a hot shower, cook a p...

Well read on

Purchased 6 months ago ran twice just fine. 3rd time, put some iffy gas in it from a small portable can that was stored outside. Lesson learned. Added dry gas/ ethanol and ran it out added new gas and just fine now. Would recommend

Plenty of power, starts when needed

I use this generator to power whole house. It does great

Setup

Generator is seems solid started up and ran fine. Need to work on your set up directions. Although assembly of the wheels as it sits on the pallet is good concept it is not possible inlet the pallet is narrow enough. Also more detail is needed for removal including the bolts not mentioned. The unit is large heavy and expensive and a new owner wants to be careful not to damage it so more detail and care is needed in this area. Clear that whoever wrote the instructions did not actually do u...

Assembly challenges and stop button doesn't work

So far, not great. Pallet too wide to install wheels as instructed, 2 of the 3 wrenches were identical, only two of the four washers for the wheels included, only 1 hole for dipstick & oil fill rather than instruction's 2, etc. Started on first push of button but the Start/Stop button won't turn it off. Submitted a message on Saturday and then a ticket on Monday as instructed, but haven't heard anything back (Wednesday night).

poor customer service

they never respond to Lowe's in regards to delivery or non-delivery

Don't buy these types of items they don't back it!

Has trouble running on propane after following instructions to the letter. Absolutely no help from DuroMax or Lowes Pro. A 5 year warranty and no returns. stupid. don't buy it.

RL shippers were TERRIBLE

They delivered without setting up a day or time. They literally said they didn’t care. I wanted it delivered on Tuesday when someone would be there - it's been almost a month since it was ordered - they left it out in the open.

vendor is bogus they do not respond to Lowe's

don't buy these generators or anything on Lowe's website

Works as ad

Bought this in the spring and used it 2 times performing great would recommend it to anyone

Whisper quiet

I bought this generator a couple years back. The packaging was well protected and easy to assemble. The generator started right up on propane at the house, when we got it up in the woods for an elk hunt the propane wasn’t working as should, maybe elevation. After filling it with non ethanol fuel it started right up and ran the rest of the trip with no issues and is whisper quite. Great generator for the price. Would recommend to anyone.

Built for power. Built to last

I bought mine in Jan 2025 when j moved into my new home. I had the builder wire it for this generator specifically. When the power goes out I fire up this bad boy and flip the bypass switch. I sit back and wonder how my neighbors are fairing. My SIL lives with my wife and me. She has medical issues whereby she needs power she can rely on. This machine was built for power and built to last. 5 stars. Highly recommended.
