I bought this almost 6 years ago and it is just as reliable now as when I got it. The 3 speeds are great, 2 being my go to, but I like 1 for more delicate things such as ceiling fan blades. I would buy this again but I don't think I'll need to anytime soon, over 5 years of commercial use can't be beat!

Built tough, reliable
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This impact driver appears it will last forever. For context, I use this tool professionally daily. This impact outperforms anything I've encountered so far. I am HARD on this tool, it's been dropped from 15' multiple times, purposefully and not. The back of the impact has been used as a hammer on multiple occasions. It still behaves the exact same as the day I opened the box. Impressive.

Still working after 7 years of abuse
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Workhorse of an impact. Used it for a solid 6-7 years and it never had an issue. In all weather with tons of abuse and it still kicks. I don’t really need and impact like this anymore but I still carry it daily.

3 Years of reliable use and still going.
Would Recommend[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the DCF887 1/4” Impact Driver in August of 2021, having used it for the last 3 years I can say I am happy with the performance, quality and durability of this driver. From DIY home construction to use in some minor automotive applications this tool has exceeded my expectations; I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the purchase of it.

Practically Bulletproof
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this impact for almost 3 years. It has fallen off of ladders, scissor lifts, and window sills. It has been thrown in the mud, rained on, and snowed on, and I’ve barely noticed a loss in power. It refuses to die. I’ve definitely gotten my moneys worth, and would recommend over other impact drivers.

Great power!
Would RecommendGreat power and can take a beating, mine has lasted very well and has been used hard. I use adapters to fit sockets and use it just like an impact and have had no problem with most bolts I’ve taken off.

DeWalt XR 20 Volt impact Driver
I use mine often no problems. Works great. Definitely would recommend it. if I had 4 hands I'd buy another one. very pleased with mine
No overload protection. The 887 has its limits.
Hey Dewalt, there needs to be an automatic shutoff safety feature to protect this tool from overheating itself. Perhaps Dewalt would like to do an analysis on my 887 to assess the damage? Now I'm afraid to push it so perhapas I need to replace it. I'm a homeowner working on my remodel btw. Recently, my brushless 887XR 1/4 impact got so hot it smoked. I was angle driving a 6 inch Ledger Lock T-27 self drilling 3/8 structural screw through a new spruce joist...
It doesn't fit all 20 Volt cordless applications
