Reverse threads may back out screw if predrilling
Would RecommendI'm no pro and was working with these and composite decking for the first time. I was attaching boards to both new and reused 2x6 joists. The Grip Rite website does say to predrill but in doing that about 10-20% of screws did not sink flush and often backed out while turning counter-clockwise due to the reverse threads at the top. Most of these then spin in the hole and don't back out at all. I had to turn them out with locking pliers and side cutters to replace with longer screws. I stopped pre...

Would Recommendthe left hand threads at the top have a tendency to cause you to strip out a hole too easily, unless you buy them minimum 1/2" longer than an ordinary construction screw you would use for the same project. the threads also destroy composite if you ever try to back them back out once they've been counter sunk.. they look good though
