Would Not RecommendBought this saw so we could knock out little jobs on the driveway without having to bring out the 455 Rancher. The first one we bought had a stripped bolt for the chain housing. When the chain popped off, there was no way to tighten it back down. Returned it with no issue. (Thanks much, Lowe's!) We are now on our second saw. The chain absolutely refuses to stay on. Yes, I tightened it. Yes, the housing is snug, and everything is oiled and charged. It doesn't matter if the branches are thick...

Would RecommendI have used gas chainsaws for 40 years before I bought this Craftsman 12" chainsaw. For trimming small trees, palms, etc... it works really well and the battery life is excellent good. The pure connivence of not having to start the chainsaw every time you pick it up when doing a lot of trimming is really nice. It is also a lot easier to use with a bad shoulder. It will never replace my gas chainsaws, but I highly recommend it for light to moderate use.

Would Not RecommendWorst chain saw that I have ever purchased. Has a flimsy 10" blade but when cutting anything bigger than about 4" the saw stalls, the chain does not retain its tension and pops off, or the saw overheats and quits. The spacing is so tight that I can barely get my hand around the top grip without tripping the safety, and it doesn't reset reliably. I will be returning the saw to Lowes.

The first one I bought broke almost immediately (after 1 cut). I'm being gentler with this one, but it still doesn't feel as robust as my smaller Craftsman (10 inch). Only time will tell. The exchange at Lowe's was awesome though and made me appreciate their customer service team.

Don't need no gas in it
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing shocked me and not literally!! I was amazed how much and how easily can cut limbs, and what ever else size of wood you need cut. No hearing protection, no mixing gas/oil , just cut. I'm floored, hope don't run out of trees to cut up..
