What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise the cedar mailbox post for its beautiful natural grain, smooth finish, and superior appearance compared to pressure-treated alternatives. Reviewers consistently describe it as sturdy, well-made, and robust, with strong joints and solid construction from heartwood. Most find installation straightforward using concrete, and many appreciate its versatility for various mailbox types. A few report isolated issues like splits or loose fasteners, and some note ordinary nails rather than stainless steel hardware. Overall, customers consider it an excellent value and significant aesthetic upgrade.

Would Not RecommendPut together with nails, not screws. It was already a little loose on arrival. Added 6 3” screws to fortify it.
Better looking than green pressure-treated wood
Would RecommendNote that the mailbox and red cedar box cover shown are not included, which was fine with me, but product illustrations ought to show only the product. Pro: It's mostly heartwood, not sapwood, and has a nice smooth finish. Con: It would be better if it were assembled with stainless steel nails or exterior grade screws and not ordinary nails, which can rust.
The cedar cradles my mailbox so majestically!
Would RecommendGo with the cheaper one in this line.
Would Not RecommendI don’t think it’s cedar or red wood. It arrived grey. Top was also with a knot that had already fallen out—so a hole at the top. Also delivery was not anything to brag about or worth the money.
Mailbox Post
Would Not RecommendThe post was curved three was no inspection on this item before it was delivered. Now after paying 80.00 dollars. Have and item that is not correct. I am now at a lost as to do to make right.
Great post - the one to buy.
Would RecommendI really love the look of this item - it is built and looks infinitely better than the junk pressure treated version that is commonly sold. My only concern is that the actual post is a bit short - you end up with just about 20 inches in the ground if you are following the 42” USPS height requirement.
Misleading Product Photos
Would Not RecommendThe photo of the product is misleading. Only the post is included, not the mailbox as shown in the above photo for this review and in several photos in the Lowe's product page.
Beautiful wood
Would RecommendThis is a mail post made of beautiful cedar. I gave it a light sanding to even out rough spots and coated it with Thompson’s stain/sealer. Really brought out the richness of the wood. Recommend!
