Completely Unacceptable for a Premium Appliance

We’ve had this Café dishwasher for only three months, and it has already completely died. No warning, no power, no response from the control buttons. Nothing. A GE repair technician came out and determined that it needs a new circuit/control part. On a THREE-MONTH-OLD dishwasher. To make matters worse, the part is backordered for two weeks, so we’re now expected to go without a functioning dishwasher while waiting for a repair on an essentially brand-new appliance. Broke in 3 months

Do not buy this washer. It looks nice, but it’s been a nightmare. After 3 months of use, the dishwasher went completely unresponsive (no lights on, no power, no sounds). We checked the outlet and reset the breaker but it remained unresponsive. We called Bodewell (the services arm of GE) who sent a technician out. They said it needed a new control board which would take 2 weeks. No other solutions offered so now we are without a dishwasher for the next 2 weeks while we wait to get a part replac...

Great except

I’m not sure if all three rack dishwashers have this problem, but if we lower the middle rack, the sprayer below the middle rack hits the plates on the bottom and if we raise it many items that you try to put in that middle rack don’t fit. When you use the jet dry your dishes come out sparkly clean! I love the delay feature! I can set a delay and it starts up when we are all sleeping and done by morning! It’s so quiet I don’t hear it running at all! The first few times I had to go over and make sure I pressed start!

I purchased this dishwasher from Lowe’s in Sept 2025 to replace a dead KitchenAid dishwasher that completely stopped working and was going to be too expensive to replace the motherboard. Huge disappointment

I was so excited to get matte white GE Cafe Series appliances in our remodeled kitchen. After running it about 15 times, it died. Turns out it needs a new control board. The dishes are always very clean. Each time I open the dishwasher from a completed cycle everything is dried completely. The dishwasher can fit so much in it. I will never own a different dishwasher than this one. It is the ultimate dishwasher and I am in love with it.

major design flaws

Honestly, don't waste your money on this. While this dishwasher cleans fine, it is a significant downgrade from their older model due to some terrible design choices. -The biggest issue is the adjustable upper rack. If you use the lowering feature, the middle spray arm hits standard dinner plates and the silverware basket on the bottom rack, preventing it from spinning. To actually use the lowered rack, you have to remove the silverware holder and avoid washing plates...which completely defea...

Wonderful dishwasher inside and out. It's quiet, cleans well, and looks good doing it. What more could you ask for.
