What Customers Are Saying
The electric edger provides a mixed performance. Many users praise its power, ease of use, and durability, reporting it effectively edges their lawns and sidewalks. However, some customers have experienced quality and reliability issues, with problems like the motor failing, blade loosening, and components feeling flimsy after just a few uses or a couple of years. The product appears to offer good value, but there are concerns about its long-term performance and consistency.

My third BnD lawn edger. Reliable and works as expected. I miss the attachable side handle that the previous two models had.

Not worth the money
Would Not RecommendSix years and it’s done! Home use only about 3 times a year.

Great Product
Would RecommendI have had this edger for nearly 17 years. It has held up to the test of time. The maintenance is quite simple by just cleaning after each use. I typically only replace the blade one (1) time each year. I use the item biweekly, and it has never let me down.

Great Edger/Trencher with terrible repair support
This is the second B+D LE750 (Type 7) Edger/Trencher that I have purchased. The first LE750 (Type 7, wired, 120VAC) I purchased in 2019 and was used several times a year (not heavily) and died from failure of the 120VAC motor brushes. The brushes were not worn out but rather broke apart. Should have been an easy repair via brush replacement but replacement brushes are available, either through B+D or other online parts sources. Much as I love the job this edger/trencher does and its design, I ca...

Much easier than a human powered edger!
Would RecommendEasy to handle, even with a cord (I'm using 150' of cord!), and it does a neat job. My walks were overgrown with about years of no edging, and the Black&Decker cleaned them up very nicely. I went over them twice, the second time in "trencher" mode. Nice!

Landscape edger
Such a reliable tool! Love the ease and the clean edging makes my lawn look professionally trimmed.

Great edger, sorry parts support
Would Not RecommendFor three years this has been a great product. However, it just stopped running. Being an engineer, I took it apart to see if it was something simple. The brushes on the motor are worn out which are usually simple to replace. However, try getting replacement parts! The two stars are for B&D's parts availability. A couple of review sites on line list this edger at or near the top, however I can't recommend it unless you like replacing the entire edger every few years.

Does the job, could be better.
Would Not RecommendIt gets the job done but I wouldn't recommend it over similarly priced equipment. I just finished edging a sidewalk for the last two hours. The stuff I was cutting through was approximately 4 inches of small ice plant. There are three things that were sorely lacking: 1) a detachable guard; 2) a swing joint on the handle to pivot 180 degrees horizontally relative to the blade and 3) something like a plow or dozer to clear all the dirt and vegetation that was accumulating in front of and belo...

Would Not RecommendI used the edger 3 times. During the third use, it stopped working. I contacted the so-called customer support, but basically all they do is tell you to try plugging the edger into a different outlet. Duh! Customer support personnel then went on to tell me that the edger is just out of warranty but that I could take it someplace to be repaired at my expense. Thankfully, my garbage man comes every Thursday. This edger will be headed to the landfill where it belongs. R.I.P.

Disposable
Would Not RecommendBought new and only lasted 2 summers. Developed a short somewhere, squeeze the trigger and it may or may not work randomly. After the model change and absent black handle, it’s not a stable edger.

don't bother
Would Not RecommendThis piece of equipment is terrible. I tried using it twice. It can't even cut through hard ground. Don't waste your money.

2nd edger purchased
Would RecommendHad same model for over 9 years. Easy to use. Works better than a gas edger I replaced this model with. Best edger I have used. Lasted longer than other edgers I owned. Powerful

Handle angle too low
Would RecommendMy 91 year old 5’3” mother bought this product and she complained that the angle of the handle is too low even for her to use. I’m 5’9” and find it very uncomfortable to use. When you upgrade the design you may want to consider an adjustable angle on the handle. Otherwise it’s a great tool!

Worked great. Now it needs motor brushes.
Would Not Recommendparts for the type 7 are not available so the edger can't be fixed.

Easy to use
Would RecommendI do most of the yard work at our home since my husband works so much. The Black and Decker 2-in-1 landscaper edger works great! It’s easy to use and light in weight. We’ve had it for several years now and still works like the day we bought it. Directions are easy to follow and leave a nice smooth edge on the grass. Two thumbs up!

Edge me up
Would RecommendI have used both electric and gas powered edgers in the past. I prefer the gas ones since you don't have to drag a cord behind you. The electrics never seemed to have enough power, either. However, this unit is different. Seems to have plenty of power and really isn't bad to use. You still have a cord, but the handle design keeps it out of your way and behind you. Very reliable and does a good job edging. The first pass took a while since there was a lot of stuff that needed cutting. After that,...

Best Edger/Trencher Ever!
Would RecommendI purchased the Black and Decker Landscape Edger/Trencher and it has been a great additon to my landscape tools! Makes it easy!

Works great
Would RecommendI've had 2 in the over 42 years I've owned a home. They work great although with sidewalks or drives the blades wear down after about 4-5 edgings (depending on size of walks). But they won't last forever. I loaned 1 to a neighbor and he burned up the motor forcing it through the edging process. So I replaced it and that one lasted about 25 years before the blade wouldn't stay tight. I repaired it once but worked loose again so bought another one that I've had now for about 10 years. Yes I ...
