What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this shovel for exceptional durability and rugged construction, with users in harsh climates like Alaska and Lake Tahoe reporting zero failures after heavy use. Reviewers consistently highlight its superior performance cutting through hard-packed snow and ice, noting the blade's weight distribution provides excellent leverage and reduces back strain. Many love the compact, collapsible design for vehicle storage and appreciate its versatility for raking, gravel, and outdoor tasks. A few suggest minor enhancements like hardened steel edges or wider blades, though these rare critiques do not diminish the overwhelming enthusiasm and strong recommendations.

Super sturdy. Great for snow that's packed on the sidewalk. Works great on ice and slush also. Need a sharper edge on it? Take a file to it. Great shovel period!

A better snow shovel had not existed until the Alpha4
After decades of weak, non-recyclable, non-repairable, non-adjustable snow shovels and much money spent replacing them, the Alpha4 was deployed in the last high water content snowfall, killed it moving that crap out of the way, and now is nestled inside the well-designed (reflective fabrics FTW) XL Shovel bag ready for the next storm.

Great, sturdy shovel
It is super strong and folds up nice and small. Hard to beat!

Thank you so much for your review David! Hope you find some good ways to use it this summer!
Excellent Equipment!
I recently bought our second shovel, the Alpha 4, from DMOS and the corresponding Southwest XL Shovel Bag. While I've not yet used the shovel (no snow), I have used the other shovel I purchased over a year ago and love it! The bag is beautiful with all the colors and fits our new shovel perfectly. I like the protection the bag offers.

So glad to hear it! We love it too, one of our favorite bags so far!
Seams like high quality shovel.
Seams like high quality shovel. Will review again after I get to use it more.

Good but not great.
Solid and well built comes at a price. The shovel is rather heavy. Great for moving deep snow not great at scraping near the ground. The shovel needs a tad bit more rocker. The handle extends well and is very sturdy yet all the push button connection prevent solid contact ngagement and the handle rattles a bit. The alpha shovel on the other hand is an outstanding product.

Maine winter dream tool
I hate shoveling. I also have being limited by a tool. This is not the case with the Alpha 4. I ordered it late in the season and secretly hoped for more snow to shovel to get the chance to use it. Little did I know every large snow fall came after I received the Alpha 4. It works wonders.. driveway, walkway, porch, roof, ice fishing, snowmobile, truck, and backyard forts. I haven't found a task it doesn't perform well at.

Best snow shovel ever!
Heavy duty snow scoop that does a great job in powder or wet snow. Aluminum so you need to spray the shovel with a non-stick spray. Very heavy duty and user friendly built. Expensive, but well worth it. I'll purchase at least one more.

Great Shovel
Have used the Alpha to shovel my driveway over the last few years and it has performed exceptionally. I ended buying 2 more to carry in both our cars where it comes in a rugged carrying bag with the handle collapsed. Good Product in my opinion.

Great Shovel on the go, or otherwise
I am very impressed by this shovel. I love that it is compact when not in use, I carry it in my car at all times. It is the best shovel for fast clearing that I have ever come across! Thank You DMOS for creating this super useful tool! Oh and the beanie cap is also super warm!

Buy with confidence, great tool!
Most impressive product I've bought it a long time. Great design, well made, super handy. The Alpha 4 is just the right size, tough but comfortable and most importantly, actually in my truck when I've need it. Another plus, the handle is adjustable so you can go short for more power and control hacking away at frozen roof dumps but with a push of a button you've got a surprisingly long handle for that extra reach under a high centered car in a snowstorm, genius!

Quality A+ Size Needs Work
I love DMOS shovels and have several. Personally I think this one misses the mark a little. I get a lot of snow and use 2 shovels 95% of the time: A pusher and a lifter. This is a lifting type shovel but the standard width of most lifters is 20. At 15 the Alpha is just too narrow to make good time. Where it does rule is steps, tight areas, and as a scraper. If you only clear walks/steps it's a great option with the collapsing aspect for storage but it's too small to clear driveways IMO. A vers...

Macho Design
We last shoveled snow on Dec 14, 2022. Our faithful aluminum shovel for over 15 years was aging out. We order a DMOS Alpha 4 Shovel and picked it up from the Post Office on Dec 27th. Have not used it yet but it is one finely crafted shovel with an evenly distributed weight. Temps are supposed to drop this weekend with possible mixed rain and snow in the forecast. We're patiently waiting to shovel snow with our DMOS Alpha 4.

Good Shovel
Like everything from DMOS, this is solidly built and well designed. If you live in an area with heavy wet snow it is likely a perfect shovel and no doubt the last one you will ever need to buy. If however, you live in the mountain west and get lighter powder it needs to be 50% wider to be the perfect shovel¦

Life saver
During the recent Blizzard in Buffalo, I used my Alpha shovel to help dig out my neighbor so that we could rescue her after losing power and heat. This is my third DMOS shovel and it definitely saved someone's life that day.

Thanks for your kind words.
Excellent Shovel
The Alpha 4 is a great winter tool. It came just in time for the Buffalo Winter Vortex Storm of 2022. The shovel is very sturdy, and strong. It was invaluable when it was time to start digging out from over 6 Feet of hard-pack snow. It cut through the hard pack easily, and the ice-chopping ability made the difference. I let my neighbors try out the shovel while we any my two boys were digging them out, and everyone was impressed with how light and durable the shovel was. I sent everyone links to...
