Ratings & Reviews for allen + roth Brown Metal 3 -Shelf Bookcase ( 31.5-in W x 35.5-in H x 17.5-in D ) Finished

Good shelf. Right price.

Happy with this purchase. Worth the price.

Nice appearance, but average shelf

Not as robust/rigid as I had hoped. The shelves are laminate particle board. It is east to assemble.

It is ok.....

I would like to start by saying I am extremely mechanically inclined. THIS shelf was a beast. Each shelf has 5 holes "pre-drilled" and of those 5, AT BEST, 2 would line up with the frame. It is sturdy but I wouldn't recommend it for the price.

totally satisfied

I had no trouble with assembling. Either the company improved quality or the complainers ignored note about not tightening anything until after it was all put together.

very nice shelf

This is a great shelf. It was fairly easy to assemble except for the fact that the screws that hold the shelves down are slightly too short. Luckily I had some that were about 1/8th inch longer. Looks great in the kitchen. The finish on the pipes seems to be strong as I had no chips on mine. It does have adjustable feet so if your floor is not quite level and make it more stable. I was disappointed in the fact that it is only rated for 200lbs but after putting our mixers etc on it the weight lim...

It matters how you put the outside bar together!

Things are pretty good quality. We did have one little ding in a shelf. I didn’t love that, but I did go ahead and start using it rather than returning the item. It wasn’t hard to assemble - seems sturdy. When you first start the left and the right bars or shelf parts of the metal really do matter which way they’re turned top and bottom because they cross bars in the back have to get screw screwed in just an FYI.

I was really disappointed with this shelf. It’s advertised as “easy assembly,” but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Several of the pre‑drilled holes were completely misaligned, and a few were so oversized that the screws wouldn’t even grip. What should have been a quick setup turned into a frustrating project of trying to force pieces together that simply weren’t manufactured correctly. On top of that, one of my shelves arrived poorly packed. The screw/tool holder inside the box was bus...

Perfect Kitchen Storage

Exactly as pictured! Was also very easy to assemble. I have multiple small appliances on it and seems to be holding up very nicely.

Little off, but works

Had difficulty lining the shelves up. It did cone together, but just a little off. Maybe only I can tell.

Well made

Sturdy metal shelving unit. Went together well. You do have to pay attention to the labeling on the side supports, otherwise it’s easy to get them out of order, and then the cross beams don’t fit.

Very easy to assemble.

I love the design of this bookcase. I bought for my husband's office.

Top tier shelves.

I love the look of these shelves and they are very stable. I would rate them a 5 but when you you go to put the shelves in they are weirdly hard to get lined up. Other than that they are awesome.

Quick build time

Super easy to put together maybe all together 30 min build time.

Best avoided

This was a pain to put together. And when I did finally get it together, it was visibly tilted.. I loosened bolts and adjusted.. I took parts of it apart and still.. wonky, but sturdy shelf. It looks weird. I bought two.. put 1 together; returned the other. And I plan to replace this one. Don’t waste your money or your time. You’ll be glad you went with something else.

Great product. Horrible delivery time

We love the shelf. Looks great and is sturdy. The time it took to get it delivered to the store was horrible. Delivery date was 3 weeks later than estimated date.
