The top step itself is a bit over 20 inches, the platform is 16 inches. It is plenty of room to stand and move around when you are working.
Was this Answer Helpful ?Top step is 18 inches wide but the platform is only 16 inches wide, sort of like a fat "T" shape. The platform with step is 19-1/2 inches deep. It's quite comfortable to stand on. When set up, the ladder's platform is actually 46 inches off the ground. At 5'2", I can comfortably stand on the platform and work on my 9-ft ceiling.
