does this lamp work with Metal Halide light bulbs that are 100 watts


I've never heard of metal halide bulbs. I use LEDs.

Metal Halide bulbs require a ballast (transformer) and can not be used in a standard lamp socket. The fixture you are asking about can support either incandescent or compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs. However, be aware that there is not guarding (cover, screen, etc) to protect the bulb from the fixture being dropped, or something (wrench, parts, etc.) from flying into it., breaking the bulb, and creating a hazardous condition.
