This 50 amp 3-wire range receptacle is for replacement purposes only on pre-1996 range circuits. Any range or dryer circuit installed after 1996 is required to be a 4-wire circuit with 4-prong receptacle to match the 4-prong range cord. Dryers use a specific 30 amp 4-wire receptacle. Consult the associate in the electrical department of your local Lowes store for details.

Was this Answer Helpful ?Yes, it is a 50 amp made for stoves. The new power cord for the the stove was a perfect match for it. The power cord for my 220 dryer would NOT work, different pattern. When I was in the store the the cords for the the dryers had a lower amp rating than the one for the stove.
