Can it be mounted to the wall versus ceiling?

In my opinion yes it can. As long as you have a solid anchor point and a proper electrical connection that is switched this fixture can be mounted in any position with the exception of under water! lol These have the new electronic ballast, just an FYI for you.

It could if you make a mounting for it. As you may know it hangs on chains. You would have to alter the top casing.
