Can I pre drill this in order to install (screw down) hardibacker over it? I’m just looking to patch a 1’ x 3’ spot prior to installing hardibacker.


Two things: The leveler is at risk of cracking when drilled, so that may happen. The other is that if you are successful in drilling into it, it's best to drill fully through and anchor into the substrate below it rather than anchoring into the leveler.
