Why isn’t a black cap available when the base is black? It doesn’t make sense that u don’t make it. Lowes rep says people ask for it all the time.

Our base strips have been that way since we first sold our system in early 90's and was done to differentiate our base from the caps. The caps also provide protection from the UV rays of the sun. They come in lighter colors as vinyl absorbs heat and even though we have UV inhibitors in the vinyl it aids in potential negative effects from the sun. Some customers have decided to use base and cover it with a wood strip and then they can either stain or paint any color of their choosing. Screen Tight
