3x6 tile: #of tiles and sq ft per box? Is 1/8" grout safe with ANY pattern?

This item has 80 tiles per carton, and one carton covers 9.69 sq.ft. A 1/8" grout joint is suitable for this size of tile if using a stacked or an offset pattern. Herringbones are not recommended, as 2 widths plus a grout joint will be larger than the tile length, and the stack ups will be quite noticeable as the installation continues, and such why tiles with width to length ratio of 1:3 are generally recommended for herringbone patterns to be more accommodating. A Lowes design professional may be able to assist you in the layout of your project, as there are many standards to keep in mind when it comes to tile (ANSI A137.1 for tile and A108 for tile installation). Knowledge of the standards are needed to ensure a successful project and not void any warranties.
