Is it necessary to use the T moldings between an opening that's not a doorway using the Roth + Allen Laminate model AR515?

No. You can flow from room to room without transition strips. I just did through 4 rooms.

Yes, you will need to use a T molding to transition into any "new" space or opening, provided the floors meet each other at level. If not, you can use a reducer. Installing a transition means you are leaving space for that laminate to expand and contract around the perimeter of the space, which is of course necessary for the laminate to function properly and avoid buckling.

Use a T-molding, end molding or reducer strip to make a functional and decorative where the new flooring meets old flooring.
