Can I use area rugs on this floor, if so what type of backing is recommended?

Hello! For area rugs and mats, we recommend not to use Natural Rubber or latex. A certain percentage of natural rubber and latex added to the floor can cause discoloration. Urethane backed are good. Felt backed are also good. Anything with the Mohawk Home logo (rugs or rug pads) will not harm the floor. Our rug pad uses a slight bit of rubber, but we control the content and know it is non-staining. Thank you for your QS inquiry- Pam
