What is the recommended water volume for this? Is 1/2 inch pipes okay, or does it really need 3/4 inch?


The Lanikai is designed for 1/2 inch pipe. Restrictors limit the flow to the mandated 2.5 GPM. Increasing the size pipe will not result in any different performance unless restrictors are removed.

Don't believe it really matters, as the unit has a a flow-rate max of 2.5 gpm in any event. The important thing is the pressure to the head.
