Do you have to make any miter cuts or do the 2x4s just slip in as is?

Miter cuts are not mandatory. I made 20-degree miter cuts to the bottom of the legs just for better contact with the ground.

No miter cuts, the 2x4s slip in very easily

Square cuts are all that is necessary.

They just slip in, the only cuts you need to make is the length.

strait cuts work fine , but you should save your money and purchase two " metal ' folding horses they work so much better , these are very unstable but if you only need them one time they will work
