Love the light but I am having trouble removing the glass dome! Even my husband can not twist it off and we are turning it counter clockwise to remove

You remove the small metal piece at the very bottom. It is a nut that holds the globe in place. You will not be twisting the glass glove; remove the nut while holding the glove in place to keep from falling. Once the nut is removed, nothing is holding the glass in place, that will be up to you to assure it doesn't fall. Lower the glass glove, change your bulbs and reverse the process.

I’m having the same trouble with not being able to get it unscrewed. I’m having gripping it. I suggest some kind of rubber material to help grip it.

Are you sure this light dome is supposed to be removed? Some of them are not and the whole fixture is supposed to be changed after about 10 years of use.

Have you already installed the light or are you talking about the light inside the packaging? The dome should not come already assembled in the package. If someone else installed it, then perhaps they over-tightened it because the dome should not be difficult to remove once the cap is easily unscrewed.
