How does the sides work when they look like they are rounded ? Do they fit up against other cabinets ?

yes. they are made to fit with the other ones . i have my upper cabinets done and they match up nicely. will be doing the same for the lower this week. i thought the same thing as you about my upper cabinets, but when my husband put them up i was pleased.
