Pathetic product description "1200 INCHES". Plastic coated? Working weight limit. Says "Indoor Use"!!!

In one review the reviewer complained that it was aluminum but the mfg responded that it was steel. However, from the other reviews and the fact that the description says "metal" I'm assuming it is cheap aluminum. I haven't found any old fashioned vinyl coated or plain steel yet - may end up with cheap cotton knowing that I'll have to keep tightening it. :(
