The problem is that the stop switch wire is routed incorrectly around the metal piece of the switch. When the switch is pulled up to on position, the metal edge is sharp and cuts into the wire and with engine vibration, will cut far enough through insulationto touch wire therefore grounding the switch— killing the engine.. much like a kill switch. The solution is to remove the side cover, remove switch and reroute the wire to the outside of the switch instead of pinched behind it. Add some tape or other insulating material to the wire and reinstall switch and put cover back on. You won’t have any further problems with this. Fixed several now. Was about to return mine as well, but figured it out. Glad I did. The saw does a great job and is worth the effort of the fix. Btw, you will have to look close to see the small cut In the wire, but it will be there. It runs for a while after turning it off cause it moves around some and eventually the vibration will get the cut back in contact with the switch edge therefore killing it again..
