I live in Idaho, will Bougainvillea make it thru the Winter.? Do I have to cut it down to ground level for it to come back in Soring.? In Idaho.?

I’m not a plant expert but Idaho’s really cold for a bougainvillea, a tropical woody vine per Lowe’s. My family lives in Central Texas. My Mom pulls hers in, cuts them back and leaves them in a sunny warm greenhouse all winter. It gets down the teens at most and that’s rare. Do you have space inside for a likely good-sized pot?
