Can this be used to waterproof subfloor under base cabinets when tiles are installed 'around' instead of 'under' them?


Thank you for your inquiry regarding Mapei products! Mapei does not recommend using the Mapei AquaDefense for this purpose. If you wish to more or less "seal" the area where the tile meets the bottom of the kitchen cabinets, you would be better off using a 100% silicone product in this area, such as the Mapei MAPESIL T. Mapesil T is available in all 40 colors of the Mapei grouts on the US Market today. Hope this helps! Product Advisor # 11
