Do I need to apply this over concrete outside backyard before laying thinset and porcelain tiles?


Thank you for your inquiry regarding MAPEI Products! You do not have to waterproof your concrete slab before installing tiles over it using the Mapei Aqua Defense, however, you can if you wish to. The Mapei Aqua Defesne is good for water from above, not from below.
