can arborvitae grow in containers?

I just bought some for my large containers beside my garage. I had purchased another type of tree/shrub (lemon cypress) because I loved the yellow/green color, the conical shape, the scent and they were SUPPOSED to be evergreen. T'hey totally died and our winter here in NC this past year was pretty mild (only one snow). I was so disappointed! I know that these do well in the ground here and they don't get 'too' large. So far, they are doing beautifully in my containers.

I planted mine in a container, but they will have to be replanted at some point as will become too large for a pot.

Yes you can put these in large containers - eventually though you will have to plant them in the yard. Since they are considered slow growers at 4-6" per year you can keep them in the container for a bit just make sure it's got room for root growth.

Yes you can. These are quite hardy and will grow well in deep soil with attention to watering.
