will this extension chuck .040 round bit


The IRWIN 4935655 extension is designed for 7/16" hex shank bits. It will not securely hold a .040" (about 1mm) round bit, as it is not compatible with round bits or such a small diameter. This product is meant for larger, hexagonal shank bits, typically used with power tools, not for small diameter round bits.
