I bought it to use to clean out my goat pen. Love it. I'm not sure of the width, but it definitely is not too wide. I have a "human size" door on one end of the pen with the wider 8' gate at the other end, and this fits right through the smaller one. My 42" lawn tractor does NOT fit through the door. I hope this helps with the size. I can tell you that 3- 40 pound bales max, stack and are stable enough to move. 2 would be better if you have bumpy terrain. I unloaded a truckload of 10 bales just the other day....my son thought it was useless and laughed at my wanting to use it, but he easily carries 2 bales at a time. It works perfectly for me to bring bales one at a time from the hay storage to the manger or elsewhere we need them.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The cart is 25 inches wide and it has provisions for adding wood side for height. My best guess is that it would hold 2 bales of hay, perhaps 3..............................
