The pole is set in concrete below ground; the decorative cover then slides over the top of the pole before the mailbox mount and mailbox are secured to the top of the pole.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The post goes into the ground about 12 inches and it is recommended that you pour a bag of concrete mix around it. This is how we installed it and it seems to be very sturdy.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The decorative cover is placed over the post after you have secured the post in the ground with quickcrete. You must dig a hole apporximately 1 foot deep ( or more dependent on how high you want your mailbox to sit), fill with quickcrete (instructions on bag), insert pole, level the pole then stake it in position until quickcrete is dry. Fill the rest of the hole with dirt. Decorative base does not fix to the pole but rests on the ground. No flang to mount to concrete.
