Has anyone had success using a water based stain to tint the mixture before applying? Is this able to be sanded?

It's sandable but don't know about tinting. I know plastic wood is stain able and pain table but stain will never match wood. I've always used Durham as floor patch before laying floors. I hope this helps a oittle
