Was this Answer Helpful ?First of all, the packaging never does any work so no box means nothing. My drill was in a box which is now in the trash. Inside the box, my drill was in a plastic bag without banding so your drill had been out of the plastic and must have been banded by either DeWALT or Lowe's but that does not affect the warranty so I see no problem. The fact that you have two manuals...one for drill and one for impact driver suggests that your drill was originally part of a two tool package and impact driver was probably the bad tool and you bought the good one.

It sounds like another purchaser may have only wanted the driver and the one in your original box was sold separately. I bought a Porter Cable 1/2" drill that came with soft case and it was sold in a manufacturer's box. As long as you have the owner's manual and warranty it is probably same-as-new. Register the warranty and keep your receipt. If you have problems later, Lowe's is pretty good about working with you on issues like this.
