Yes, these should fit on 4x4 posts. They come with adaptors to fit a range of sizes.

Was this Answer Helpful ?We used ours on a post composed of a 4x4 pressure treated lumber post with a white composite 4x4 sleeve over it. They are a good fit if you use the largest of the 3 square inserts included. As you know, 4x4's aren't truly that measurement, they're a teeny bit under. However, once in a while you will find one that's too large. We just finished a 14x28 deck that we did ourselves. We had one 4x4 that was cut too big. That may have been your issue. Hope this helps.
