Make sure to remove the plastic strip from the battery compartment so the batteries can make contact. Then charge it in the sun for at least 2 days.

Did you remove the battery and the tape masking the connections, before reinstalling battery?

Did you remove the paper strip that keeps it from coming before it is install

Twist the cap from the black or copper base. Near the light bulb is an on/off switch.

Twist off the top of the light and it will expose the battery compartment. Either pull out the piece of plastic that is between the battery and the light contact or open the battery compartment and remove the plastic. The manufacturer places the plastic in the battery compartment so the battery does not run down.

With these type of lights, it could be a number of things. 1. The batteries are bad and don't hold a charge. Solution = replace batteries with 1.2V 700mAh-1200mAh AA-sized batteries -or- return the lights 2. The batteries are in the wrong way. Solution = put batteries in correctly 3. The batteries were never fully charged. Solution = put batteries in correctly and place in direct sunlight during the day. Then take them out before it gets dark. Repeat this for three days then they should be charged. 4. Bad electronics. Solution = return them.

Did you pull the tab from the battery? If not the top of the light cap turns and it the battery is located under there.

Twist the top off (about 1/8 of a turn) and look inside. There should be a white tab underneath the battery cover. Pull that out, let it charge in the sun, and you should be good to go. If still no light, it may have a dead battery. Batteries are ni-cad(?).

Did you pull the little piece of paper that blocks the battery? It's under the top cap.

yes you have to open them and remove the plastic that is in between the battery and contact.. I used a battery charger and charged my bastteries up to full and then re-installe dthem. there may also be an on off switch I believe.
