Why does this product come with no instructions as to how to get into the battery compartment and pull the tab before use


I had the same question?!?!? I bought 9 and opened 1. Finding no ON/OFF switch nor instructions other than 'Expose it to 24 hrs of direct sunlight. 72 hrs is better.' It has been 5 days now and it has not turned on. I was going to return them until I read this page and found the 'Turn The Top 1/4 Turn' 'Pull Out The Battery Tab'. It is sitting in the Sun right now. Let's see if it works. I hope it will.

All you have to do is twist the top a quarter of a turn, and pull it off. Then you will be able to access the battery compartment.
