You can remove the batteries from the post cap if you so desire.
Was this Answer Helpful ?If you install them per instructions (i.e. use construction glue), you CANNOT simply remove them. You can easily twist off the top and remove the battery as others have suggested, however. I wouldn't waste my time - you don't save anything by taking them out.

Was this Answer Helpful ?No there is no on/off switch but you could simply remove them from the post. They just sit on top of the post and are not fastened to post.
