Is a metal stake for installation included?


No, this isn’t that kind of installation and the title is wrong. This is a long post that is meant to be buried.

According to the specs, the simple answer is "NO. The method of mounting is wrong.--- The length of the post is 6.8', which means mounting requires part of the post to be buried. However, the stated method of mounting is "drive-in metal stake." That method of mounting requires a post 3'-4' feet long. The stake is driven into the ground and the post is driven onto the stake until the bottom of the post is flush with the ground. They wouldn't make the mailbox post with a 6.8' post, if all you needed was a 3'to 4' post. Lowe's shows a "drive-in stake mailbox post" that is 3'-4' long. It includes the metal stake and costs a few dollars more.
