twist a ridged portion of the shaft, then rotate, then twist the nut the other way. Easy and fast.

Was this Answer Helpful ?On the Black & Decker 36-volt cordless trimmer I have, there's a black inset button near the trimmer head at the end of the shaft that you push to release the head so that you can pivot it on the end of the shaft to an up and down position (as opposed to the horizontal position you'd use for trimming). This means that the trimmer line is spinning on a vertical plane. In this position, it can be used to edge lawns, landscape beds, around trees, etc.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The head of the trimmer rotates with the push of a button. Very easy.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The head swivels so that the string cuts almost vertically. It does not actually dig an edge.
Was this Answer Helpful ?The cutting head manually rotates to correct position and you pull down edger guide bar.
Was this Answer Helpful ?just give a twist at the bottom till the wheels are facing down and go to town edging.
Was this Answer Helpful ?tip it on it's side.
