I had to drill a 1/4 inch hole for the rivet. Will this rivet gun hold a rivet this large?


I don't know. The largest rivet the gun states it could handle is 3/16 inch; it would make for a rivet that moves around. If I were to attempt it, I would use washers; maybe two of the steel rivet washers for 3/16 rivets, but I would first make sure the rivet is long enough to hold both washers and the pieces you are riveting together. That is my first guess.

This tool will NOT handle a 1/4-inch rivet. If it did, it is doubtful that the average gorilla would be able to pull the rivet. You will need a power assist riveter which costs in the hundreds of dollars
