Could this do delicate work?

Be Careful Of The "Soft" Materials. It Will Most Likely Damage It. The Tool Focuses Quite A lot Of Pressure At A Small Area And Is Not Capable Of Performing On Them. You Will Need Thin Gauge Metal Backing To Stretch The Leather Over. (May Pierce Fabric Completely, Backing Or Not.) I Learned This The Hard Way.

We have a rivet guide that could help you with that. If you would like it, email us at customercare@arrowfastener.com. Thanks for reaching out! -Your Arrow Fastener team
Certainly this can be used for what you are describing. However, I would caution you that all pop rivets have a smooth side and the side with the stem. The stem is around two to three sixteenths of an inch high, This may not meet your requirements as I am not certain that you could "hide" the stem in all situations. As far as holding power, yes it will hold similar and dissimilar materials together and it will be a strong union. Mine has been used to repair a guitar carrying case, A/C ducting, repairing toys for grandchildren, and a host of other applications. It is a handy tool for fix-it projects, and I would hesitate to lend it out to anyone who is not a member of my family,,,,,,,,,,,,,
