Can this mailbox be mounted directly to the post or does it REQUIRE a mounting bracket? Or could it be moumounted a flat board then to post/no bracket

Hello, Thank you for reaching out! The Oasis 360 Post Mount Mailbox is compatible with all Architectural Mailboxes posts (without using an adapter plate), except for the Decorative Post (item no. 5515) and the Decorative Post with Side Mount (item no. 6215). If you have an existing 4x4 wood post, you must use the 3-Way 4x4 Adapter (item no. 7540) to attach to the Oasis 360 Post Mount Mailbox to your wood 4x4 post. The bottom of this mailbox has a recessed section that enables one to mount it onto a board. Measure the recessed area. Cut the board to fit. Attach the board to the post. Once the board is set, place the mailbox on it and screw the mailbox to the board using a stubby phillips screwdriver from inside the mailbox. Be aware, you have to furnish your own mounting hardware. Alternatively, I believe Lowe's offers a mounting post that works very well with this mailbox.
