Wood pressure treated 4x4

I used pressure treated 4X4's set in concrete due to the sand content of my property. 3 years and no problems.

I used 4x4 (2' in the ground) with a vinyl sleeve to dress it up and poured concrete around the post.

4x4 or 6x6 treated lumber posts work great as gate posts. 4x4 for smaller gates and 6x6 for any gates over 6'.

I would use a 6x6 pressure treated post if the gate is bigger than 4'. 4x4 will work fine for small yard gates.
