transfer switch?

Yes. There are several manual transfer switches available that will work with this generator. You need to match the voltage/amperage rating of the panel with your generator (steady and peak) and you need to balance the load between the two sides. I will be installing one in my home. I have several projects going on and I am waiting to have all the electrical done at one time. I suggest you consult with an electrician for the selection of the panel and the installation. They can also advise you on the location of a remote plug that will accept the cable from the generator to feed your panel. This allows you to locate the generator in a safe location where carbon monoxide fumes will not be introduced into your home.
Was this Answer Helpful ?While a manual transfer switch can be utilized to provide power from a portable generator to selected loads in your home, please know that we would recommend working with a certified electrician in your local area to ensure that you are utilizing a transfer switch that not only meets your backup power needs, but meets any local codes that may apply as well.
