The Generac 5,500 generator is only equipped with rapid start dial with pull starter. If you are looking for a generator that is equipped with both options you may be interested in the Generac 7,000 watt generator, it has both electric start as well as the power dial which is exceptionally easy to operate and understand.

Generac’s RS5500 portable generator, model number 6672, does not feature electric start capabilities. If you are interested in an RS series portable generator that does feature both pull-start and electric start capabilities, however, we would recommend considering Generac’s RS7000E, model number 6673.
