A well-kept house relies on a variety of cleaning tools and supplies to keep it in order. Need to overhaul your cleaning tool collection? At Lowe’s, we have everything you’ll ever need to keep your home clean — from mops and vacuums to toilet brushes and sponges.
Keeping Clean Countertops
Whether it’s your bathroom or kitchen, countertops need constant cleaning, as they’re used daily. There are a variety of tools you can use to clean countertops, including microfiber cloths, Scotch-Brite pads, and all-purpose terry towels. Simply use your preferred countertop spray — whether it’s a store-bought specialty countertop spray or your own DIY cleaning solutions, like a DIY vinegar mix, which can be put in mist spray bottles.
Debris-Free Floors
Flooring is another area of the home that’s in constant use — whether it’s being walked on with muddy shoes or the landing spot for kitchen spills. At the very least, you should vacuum once a week. But if you have pets or children, you’ll likely have to vacuum several times a week. In addition to vacuuming, we suggest mopping at least once a week. You don’t need an expensive cleaning mop to get the job done. Just a simple mop with a removable mop head and a classic mop bucket or a Libman or Rubbermaid mop with a microfiber mop head will do. If you do want to invest in a more expensive option, consider a Swiffer Dust Mop with refillable cloths or a smart mop like the iRobot Robotic Mop. In between vacuuming and mopping, we suggest cleaning up dust and debris with a classic sweeping broom, corn broom or a heavy-duty push broom, depending on the size of your home.
Toilet Cleaning Essentials
No one loves cleaning a toilet, but it’s an essential part of keeping a home clean and sanitary. To tackle a toilet, you’ll need a toilet bowl brush and toilet cleaner. For best results, keep a toilet brush in each bathroom in the house. The bathroom can be a major host for bacteria, so we recommend cleaning your toilet and bathroom sink once a week. The bathtub and shower can be cleaned a little less often, starting with once every other week. Have a glass shower door? Mist the glass with a distilled vinegar solution and use a sponge to clean off soap scum and residue, then rinse with water. To cut down on cleaning the shower door, use a squeegee, like the Ettore ProGrip Rubber Squeegee, to remove excess water.
