Caulk has many uses around the home, allowing you to seal cracks, gaps and holes in your interior and exterior. It can also add a finishing touch to your painting job. A caulk finishing tool features a flat edge that allows you to smooth caulk out so that it blends into the wall. Pick up a single tool or a set that includes different sizes and widths so that you can complete any task, big or small.
In some cases, you'll need to remove existing caulk before painting or re-caulking. A caulk removal tool has a sharp, three-blade designed to eliminate hard, dried caulk from cracks and crevices. You can also find caulk removal spray, which has a water-based formula that can remove both fresh and cured silicone and caulk.
Once your caulking job is complete, use a caulk plug to seal the caulking tube so that it doesn't dry out. This simple accessory will help extend the life of each tube so that you always have some caulk on hand. For more caulking tips, check out our Caulk and Caulking Tools Buying Guide.
