This 28-ton full-beam high-powered wood splitter is sturdy enough and powerful enough to handle heavy-duty log splitting jobs. The patent-pending U-beam design is significantly stronger and more durable than the typical I beam found elsewhere. Powered by a Briggs and stratton Cr950 engine, and ergonomically designed for optimal performance, safety and ease of use, this horizontal and vertical log splitter cuts through wood effortlessly and efficiently, log after log. The size and weight make it a great option for frequent towing. Other features included as standard are protective log cradles on both sides, solid stamped steel fenders, and the patent-pending log spinner plate that reduces stress on the beam.

Good power very heavy.

It is plenty powerful. I had to change the stand to a trailer jack with a wheel. I can't lift it and manipulate the solid stand.

This is a great powerful splitter. The product seems extremely well made. I use it in the upright mode as I am splitting large pieces of tree trunk up to 30 inches in diameter. So far I have split oak, eucalyptus and a variety of pine. My previous splitter couldn't cope with the eucalyptus as it such a tough twisty wood - no problem with my Yardmax. The spinner foot plate is great, the wood turns to keep the split vertical without getting hung up.

yardmax 28-ton full beam log splitter

Good value for the price. Beware of on-line order option for ASSEMBLY. Assembly takes two strong men and a lift of some sort. I usdd a tractor with pallet forks. Unit weights 600 pounds. Lifting to the vertical position takes a strong back and arms. Trailer stand is not wheeled.

Works well. Handles what I have for it so far. Had to drill a hole in the axle for a cotter pin, but it went together easily. The instructions we're easy to follow.

Heavy duty machine. Splits even the hardest oak logs. Be sure to assemble on the ground, not in the back of your truck. Will need two or more men to do it.

Great heavy duty log splitter

Ordered the YU2866 model. Delivery was surprising fast and assembly wasn't a problem. Simple operation and a lot of power. This log splitter was able to split all the wood from an entire full grown hickory tree without even breaking a sweat. Well constructed and heavy duty. Looking forward to the next tree.
