Removed regular basement window and install egress window with well

Took out an old window in the basement and expanded the opening by two block rows to allow for the egress window. The window was a perfect fit for the opening.

This is a nice vinyl window. It's definitely not cheap but it meets the code (just barely) and it will typically fit the width of an existing window well. That allowed me to simply cut down the block to the necessary length/depth in an existing opening so I didn't alter the structural integrity of the exterior wall and have to put in some type of new header because the steel lintel was already in place. Had this installed several years ago. Don't feel any loss of insulation and live up north. Easy to operate the window, my toddlers were able to open it with little instruction.

I bought this item to bring a basement room to code in Missouri. It was easy to install and after shopping around, it was also the most affordable.

Great window

Added the egress window in our basement for safety about 5 years ago. Still in great condition. Opens easily in case of emergency. Large enough for an adult to easily crawl out.

It was exactly what I ordered. I needed a 5.7 sq opening window for the city of Bethlehem's requirement..Also iccr requirement. Quality material, and lowest cost ; I could find.. Long story/short ; passed inspection.
